ViewDrive Goes Live with Car Chase Heroes: A New Standard for In-Car Video Delivery
This weekend marked a major milestone for ViewDrive.
After months of development and testing, we officially went live in the UK with Car Chase Heroes, deploying ViewDrive across their fleet for a full operational rollout.
The objective was simple:
Deliver professional picture-in-picture in-car video, remove SD cards from the workflow, and automate file delivery — without disrupting pit lane operations.
The result? A successful first weekend at scale.
Live fleet output from the Car Chase Heroes rollout — a real-world, 30-car deployment delivering branded picture-in-picture video, live telemetry and instant file-ready output powered by ViewDrive.
Deployment Overview
Fleet size: 30 vehicles
Devices installed: Samsung S23 (one per car)
Connectivity: Dedicated WiFi masts installed along pit lane
Storage: Device backup + on-site NAS redundancy located in the sales area
Each vehicle was fitted with a dedicated Android device, securely mounted and pre-configured before the event weekend.
No external recording hardware.
No distributed cameras.
No SD cards.
Custom Configuration Built Around the Operator
On setup day, each device was individually configured to match its assigned vehicle.
Car Chase Heroes chose to enable:
Picture-in-picture (road + driver view)
Branded logo overlay
Live G-force meter
Vehicle image on screen
Vehicle name
Unique file prefix for structured naming
Every feature inside ViewDrive can be toggled on or off.
Operators decide exactly what appears on screen, whether that’s full telemetry, branded overlays, simplified output, or a clean coaching view. Because each phone is assigned to a specific vehicle and configured with a structured file prefix, every recording is automatically identifiable before it even reaches the sales desk.
No manual sorting.
No searching through folders.
No ambiguity.
Removing SD Cards from the Revenue Chain
For many operators, SD cards remain one of the biggest operational risks in media sales:
Ongoing purchase and replacement costs
Corrupt files
Lost or damaged cards
Manual handling delays
Missed revenue opportunities
Some systems also require cameras to be handed to customers before their drive — adding further risk of loss, damage, and pit lane friction.
ViewDrive removes that entire layer.
With ViewDrive:
Files transfer automatically via WiFi as soon as the car returns to pit lane
Recordings remain backed up on the device
A second copy is stored on the on-site NAS
No physical media changes hands
During a high-volume weekend with cars cycling in and out continuously (3–6 mile drives), file size and transfer speed were not an issue.
No corrupt files.
No missing drives.
No physical card management.
Sales Desk Workflow Transformation
Operational efficiency at the sales desk directly impacts media revenue.
Using ViewDrive’s barcode scanning and structured file naming:
Customer ID is scanned
The system instantly pulls up all associated drives
File prefixes clearly identify the vehicle and session time
Video is ready for immediate sale
From that point, delivery is entirely operator-controlled.
Whether you choose:
On-site upload to the customer’s phone
Email delivery
Cloud transfer (Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc.)
Physical media
Automated post-event fulfilment
ViewDrive ensures the footage is instantly available and correctly organised, ready for whatever workflow suits your business model. During launch weekend, footage was uploaded directly to customers’ phones in the on-site media centre. In many cases, customers were sharing their branded driving footage to social media before leaving the venue.
For operators, this means:
Instant sales conversion
Faster queue movement
Increased perceived professionalism
Built-in digital marketing through customer sharing
The capture and organisation are automated.
Your commercial model stays exactly as you want it.
No Specialist Hardware. No Downtime Risk.
Traditional proprietary systems often require specialist repair. If hardware fails, units can be out of service for days or weeks while being shipped away.
ViewDrive runs on standard Android devices. If a phone is damaged:
It can be replaced immediately
A new device can be configured in minutes
Repairs can be handled locally
There is no dependency on a specialist hardware supplier
Android devices also retain genuine resale value, unlike closed, proprietary recording systems. For operators, that means reduced downtime risk and greater capital flexibility.
Operational Impact for Car Chase Heroes
The rollout delivered immediate benefits:
Removal of SD card costs
Elimination of media corruption risk
Reduced operational friction
Automated file handling
Scalable infrastructure ready for growth
Most importantly, it proved that a mobile-based, software-led system can operate at fleet scale without compromise.
What This Means for Driving Experience Operators
High-volume driving experience operators depend on:
Smooth pit lane turnover
Reliable media capture
Efficient upsell processes
Zero missed revenue opportunities
ViewDrive replaces hardware-heavy legacy systems with:
Standard Android devices
Real-time picture-in-picture recording
Structured file automation
Instant WiFi delivery
Redundant backup architecture
It is a software-led approach designed specifically for fleet operators.
Looking Ahead
This wasn’t just a launch. It was proof of concept at commercial scale. ViewDrive is now live, operational, and delivering in a real-world, high-volume driving experience environment. If you operate a supercar fleet, track day business, or corporate driving event and want to modernise your in-car media workflow, we’d be happy to demonstrate the system in action.
